How to Get There

By Land:
Visitors who hold a valid passport and a valid visa (or an E-visa) for Myanmar can enter through the border crossing between Mae Sai, Thailand and Tachi Leik, Myanmar, and proceed to Keng Tung by land, which is about a 3-hour drive. From Keng Tung, there are domestic flights daily to Yangon, Mandalay and Heho (Inle Lake).
Visitors without a visa can obtain a One Day Return Border Pass to visit Tachi Leik only, or a Border Entry Pass with a 14-day stay permit for Tachi Leik and Keng Tung only. These special entry passes can be obtained at Tachi Leik by travelers who will only visit Tachi Leik and Keng Tung and return to Thailand through Mae Sai.

By Air:
Domestic flights to Kengtung leave Yangon, Mandalay and Heho (Inle Lake) daily. Tickets are available online or through a travel agent.
