The Eng who refer to themselves as "Va" are possibly related to the Wa tribe. They live in the foothills of the Keng Tung basin and in the higher hills of Mong Khat area. They are another diminishing tribe.

Eng women often marry at the age of 14 or 15. The colorful ornaments suit their black garb.

The Eng fear water spirits and therefore build their villages away from marshes and rivers. Their villages are built along mountain ridges, and they use troughs made out of bamboo to pipe in water.

The Eng are animists and hold a festival at the full moon in November. The village elders travel from house to house, receiving food and the festival culminates in a gathering at the home of the presiding Shaman for worship and feasting.
