The Tai-Nu, along with the Tai-Khun and Tai-Lu, are a subgroup of the Shan people, who have historical and cultural connection to De-Hong and Sipsong-Panna in Yunnan, China.

The traditional Shan-style house features wooden structures on posts, brick and mud walls and clay-tile roofs. Homes like this are found throughout Tai-Nu villages

A large part of the Tai-Nu in Shan State live on the eastern and southern outskirts of Keng Tung.
